What are the requirements
for applicants immigrating to the U.S. as nurses?

Nurses must apply for
an Immigrant Visa Petition for Classification as
a Skilled Worker Qualified for pre-certification
under Schedule A of the Department of Labor (DOL).

|
There is no need to go through labor
certification process - a Form I-140 may be directly
submitted. |
|
Nurses must be employed with a
qualified employer. |
|
Nurses need to meet these minimum
requirements: |

- Two years experience or two
years training, |
|
- RN license if in U. S.
|
|
|
|
- Obtain visa screen certificate
from Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nurses (CGFNS)
agency in Philadelphia . |
|
- Foreign nurses need to pass
CGFNS examination and obtain a visa screen certificate
