organization in which the R visa applicant works
for must be recognized as a religious, non-profit
organization by the Internal Revenue Service, as
defined under Section 510(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue
Code. |

The beneficiary's
proposed U.S. employment must be in a religious occupation/vocation. |
|
The beneficiary
is required to show that he or she, for the 2 years
immediately preceding the time of the application
for admission, has been a member of a religious denomination
of a bona fide, nonprofit religious organization
in the United States. |

long can the R visa holder stay in the U.S. ?
The initial
approved period of stay is three years, after which
it can be extended for another two years. |
